Aksum Light My Fire
Female Ruddy Torbie Abyssinian
Born 8/31/08

Fire is one of the queens we show as an example for our sex-linked red breeding program.

She is the most friendly, easy-going and tolerant cat I have ever met. Nothing bothers her; she takes it all in stride. She also is very sure of what she wants and is quite persistent until she gets it. These are all typical Abyssinian traits.

Note the pink and dark brown colors on her paw pads, pink and brown on her "lips", and the red and brown pattern on her head.

This is unique to a ruddy torbie.

Fire is a beautiful example of this new sex-linked red color.

She has been fearless and affectionate and playful
since she was a very young kitten.

As a ruddy torbie (tortoiseshell tabby) with both ruddy and red coat colors blended together, Fire's coat color is a combination of the most common and least common colors.

These unique colors and a classic song title prompted her name.

Fire is very special in another way. She is the first of our second-generation Abyssinians and was hand-raised from birth at Aksum Abyssinians.

Fire is the daughter of Rose and Traveler.

Fire made her show debut January 10-11, 2009 at the TICA Pigeon Forge, TN show. She was perfect and handled everything like she was born to it! Which she was, of course! ;-)

Fire has been spayed and a wonderful loving pet home has been found for her. She still has the option of being shown. And hopefully one day she will get the Championship title she deserves.

Update: Fire's allergies came back and we found the source of them - food. With a chicken and fish free food, Nature's Variety canned food, her neck sore went away in just four days. She prefers venison, but does well on duck, rabbit, and lamb, too. Looking for a good home for her who is able to feed her the special diet for the rest of her life. She is very affectionate and purrs a lot. She uses the litterbox every time and gets along very well with everybody, humans and other cats.

Fire found a great home, and is only allergic to fish, as it turns out. Any amount of it and her neck sores return. With no fish, she is perfectly fine.
