Alexy Blue Cream Sky of Aksum
Female Blue Torbie Abyssinian
Born 6/25/08

Chosen by Helmi to be featured in the 2010 issue of Cats USA Magazine
(available now) as THE example of an Abyssinian!

Sky's Pedigree

Alexy Blue Cream Sky of Aksum is the second foundation queen in our sex-linked red breeding program. As a blue torbie (also called blue cream tortie, which is one of the sources of her name) with both blue and cream coat colors blended together, Sky's coat color is a dilute of the ruddy torbie. Sky's mother is a beautiful sex-linked red queen named Alexy Ginger Rogers and her father is Traveler, a ruddy carrying cinnamon and dilute.

She is a beautiful example of this new sex-linked red color. Sky has a sweet personality and is very playful and affectionate. She loves to snuggle and be petted and sleeps on our bed with us.

We asked Bruce Alexy for a stud and queen pair that would produce the very rare cream females, and Sky is the queen we took home at three months old on October 2, 2008.

She will pair up with our new red male Alexy Hot Rod Lincoln of Aksum (who we also took home on October 2nd) to produce several different possible colors, including the extremely rare and beautiful creams.

She is a real sweetheart and loves to snuggle!

We expect the first litter from Linc and Sky in 2010. The coat colors of their kittens could be any of the 14 non-silver Aby colors since Linc's underlying "black" color is chocolate. Linc's father and grandfather are chocolate also.

Sky has done well in three TICA shows in New Traits for Abyssinians. This means that she has passed the judging for the Abyssinian standard and she was chosen by several judges as the best of the New Traits Abys that we were showing at the same time.

Sky's winning pose for Helmi in the 2010 Cats USA Magazine (just published).
