Sacrebleu is a beautiful example of this new sex-linked red color, with a very obvious torbie pattern. She has had three litters of kittens, all of which had her wonderful personality. Sacrebleu is sweet-natured and very affectionate. |
Alexy Sacrebleu of Aksum
Blue torbie female
Born June 12, 2007
Alexy Sacrebleu of Aksum is the third foundation queen in our sex-linked red breeding program. As a blue torbie (also called blue cream tortie, which is one of the sources of her name) with both blue and cream coat colors blended together, Sacrebleu's coat color is a dilute of the ruddy torbie. Sacrebleu's mother is a beautiful ruddy torbie queen named Alexy Lady Marmalade and her father is Cole, a ruddy carrying cinnamon and dilute.
Rose, our cinnamon torbie, was our first Aksum sex-linked red queen. Sky, our first blue torbie, is the second sex-linked red queen.

Sacrebleu has been shown in New Traits for Abyssinians and gotten Merits each time. This means that she has passed the judging for the Abyssinian standard.
Sacrebleu has been sent to Alexy Abyssinians for breeding to Traveler and Pete. She had four healthy kittens on February 1, 2011 with Traveler. She had five lovely kittens on July 27, 2011 with Pete. She was just bred to Major for her last litter of kittens and had one ruddy girl March 10. She will be retired in the summer of 2012 when they are weaned.
She is a lap cat who loves to cuddle and loves attention. She is weaning her kittens now and has a great home waiting for her. |

Moonlight is a lovely example of a lilac Abyssinian, with deep golden eyes. She enjoyed showing, reaching her paws out in front of her and "making biscuits" the whole way to the show rings. The judges enjoyed her playful antics too! |
Ch Alexy Moonlight Becomes You of Aksum
Lilac female
Born February 3, 2008
Champion Alexy Moonlight Becomes You is a very rare lilac queen to enhance our TICA chocolate breeding program. Her beautiful mother, Alexy Miss Melodious Venture, was the first lilac Abyssinian to achieve the Grand Champion title in TICA. Moonlight was the 2009 TICA International Best Lilac Abyssinian.
Moonlight is the third queen in our chocolate breeding program (lilac is the dilute of chocolate). Candy and her daughter Dancer were the first and second. We prefer to retire them young so they have a long life of luxury ahead of them after only 2-3 years of breeding.

Moonlight was bred to Traveler and had two beautiful blue kittens March 8, 2011. She had one singleton kitten by Rocket on August 16, 2011. Alexy Abys has generously allowed us to keep the chocolate girl by Rocket to replace Moonlight. :-)
Moonlight was bred to beautiful RW SGC Alexy Texas Pete, and had four kittens January 6, 2012. The much-awaited lilac male is doing well and will go to the Netherlands soon as a breeding stud named Aksum Cantor of AitVedan.
Moonlight is sweet natured cat who is very playful, and typical of Abys, occasionally jumps and races around just for the fun of it! :-) She was spayed April 18, 2012 and has a good home waiting for her. |

Rose is a Cinnamon Torbie Aby. Her coat is very clear and has nice resilience, length and ticking. She has a very typical Aby personality and is quite active, playful, friendly and affectionate. She purrs a lot and is always happy! |
Alexy Gypsy Rose of Aksum
Born June 29, 2007
Spayed October 19, 2010
Rose is a cinnamon torbie Abyssinian carrying dilute, born 6/29/07. Cinnamon is the new TICA name for Sorrel, and is also known as Red in CFA. It is one of the four generally accepted colors for Abys.
Cinnamon Torbie is also one of the sex-linked red colors. It is the hardest to distinguish from the original Cinnamon color because the Cinnamon and Red colors are nearly the same shade of red and are mixed together in a random pattern, which is why we thought she was a Cinnamon until very recently.
Rose was the third best Aby kitten in the SE region for the 2007-2008 season with several ribbons.
Rose and Candy's inbreeding coefficients are quite small, meaning that there is essentially no inbreeding in either cat. Rose is also a foundation cat for Aksum Abyssinians and was bred by Bruce Alexy of Alexy Abyssinians.
Our first litter of Abyssinian kittens was from Rose and Traveler born 8/31/08. The two available cinnamon female kittens were both sold in December as soon as they were available to go to new homes.

Fire (at left) was kept for the Aksum showing program. She was spayed and placed in a loving forever home after her showing career ended. Rose,
our first breeding Aby, is now spayed and
retired in a loving home. She had just one
litter and has been a beloved pet most of
the time while here. She gets along with everybody
she meets, including children, dogs, and other
cats. |

Candy is
an exceptionally nice example of a chocolate
Aby. Her coat is clear of extra marks and
has nice resilience, length
and ticking with rich, warm color. Candy
has a sweet expression, nice ear set and a
well shaped head. She is extremely intelligent,
as well as active, playful, affectionate and
friendly to everyone she meets. |
RW
QGC Alexy Braeside Candytuft of Aksum
RW QGC CHA Alexy Braeside Candytuft of BlueRiver
Born October 24, 2007
Spayed January 7, 2011
Candy is
a chocolate Abyssinian carrying cinnamon and
dilute, born 10/24/07. TICA (The
International Cat Association) recognizes
six main colors (plus the silver versions
for a total of twelve colors) for Abyssinians.
Chocolate is one of the newer colors, and
is still gaining acceptance by Aby breeders
and judges.
As
a kitten, Candy won
a regional award for the Southeast
Region's 18th Best Kitten & 2nd Best Abyssinian
Kitten as well as TICA's
International 16th Best Abyssinian Kitten,
even though she had been shown only three
times in the two months left in the show season.
(Kittens can be shown from four up to eight
months old.)
At
barely eight months old, Candy became
a Grand Champion in just one show! She is
now a year old and a Quad Grand Champion with
enough points for a Supreme Grand Championship
(lacking only the Best Cat ribbon) and is TICA's
17th Best Abyssinian Internationally,
and Best
Chocolate Abyssinian Internationally.
In the Southeast Region, Candy was 14th
Best Allbreed Cat, 9th Best Shorthair Cat,
Best Abyssinian, and Best
Chocolate Abyssinian, despite
only being shown half of the show season.
Candy is the second chocolate Aby ever to
become a Quad Grand Champion!
It
is much harder for an Abyssinian who is not
a ruddy to
place in the top ten finals as Candy
has done many times now. Many judges prefer
the traditional look of the ruddy, and chocolate
and lilac Abys are so rare that some of the
judges have never seen a chocolate before
in person.
Halfway
through the regular show season she was retired
as a show cat and became Aksum Abyssinians'
second foundation queen. Candy was bred by
Bruce Alexy of Alexy
Abyssinians.
In
2010, Candy went to Blue
River Abyssinians cattery
as a co-owned queen as Blue River Aby's first foundation cat.
After she had her third litter of kittens,
she was spayed. Once she recovered, she was
shown as an Alter, and became a Champion Alter
(CHA) and TICA's Best Abyssinian Alter in
the Southeast Region for 2011. Candy's
kittens could have been ruddy, chocolate,
or cinnamon and the dilutes of those colors
as well (blue, lilac, fawn), depending on
the sire's
genetics. Candy is chocolate carrying cinnamon
and dilute. Her first
litter of kittens was born February 24,
2009. Her second
litter with Linc as
the sire was born April 13, 2010. Her third
litter of kittens with Traveler as
the sire again was born October 1, 2010.
Her
beautiful daughter Dancer with Traveler is
the second generation foundation queen
for Aksum Abyssinians. Her rare lilac
torbie daughter Piper with Linc is
the second generation foundation queen for Blue
River Abyssinians. Her chocolate daughter
with Traveler in her third and last litter
of kittens is Aksum
Lady Godiva of Alexy. Lady Godiva's littermate
is a beautiful blue girl named Aksum Cheyenne
of Newportkittys.
Candy
was spayed January 7, 2011 and is retired
in a loving home at Blue
River Abyssinians. |
